Boating is good leisure and lots of fun, but safety is always part of the event. While campers learn how to enjoy the water, learning how to solve a problem is also part of the deal.

In canoe rescue, an emergency is simulated, and campers organize a rescue party which must launch a boat, share responsibilities, cooperate, communicate, accomplish and check-off required tasks, and bring the victim (dummy) back to shore, unharmed.

Everyone rises to the occasion as each camper learns how to deal with the urgent situation under well-supervised, carefully controlled conditions.
